On the Island of Elba, lovers of free climbing will find many spots to practice their favorite sport while enjoying a really suggestive natural environment. In the west part of the island, known as the “Costa del Sole”, where are located the highest mountains of the territory, you can find some trails for climbers prepared by certified instructors. Even the southern area of Elba is interesting for climbers, especially the “Costa dei Gabbiani”.

The climbing trails are many and varied on a training level: there are some for experts and some for beginners that are usually accompanied by qualified instructors. Some of these trails start directly on the beaches, as in the case of Ginepro in the town of Capoliveri.

Particularly well known, and not to be forget, are the climbing trails of the Pirate's Bay in the east side of the island, of Pomonte, of Madonna del Monte, of San Bartolomeo, of Mount Perone and San Francesco Severo. These latter locations can be easily reached directly from Marina di Campo in a few minutes by car.

The emotion of climbing bare hands on the rock can be felt since the beginning and Elba is the perfect location where to start.
